The health center established an electronic health records system to improve quality of care. More than 200 employees at all levels of the organization were trained to be fully functional in using this new technology.
The health center established METCHIT, a health center controlled network that fosters the adoption of electronic health records using a common platform. Members include four New York City community health centers that operate 21 service sites providing more than 600,000 annual visits for medically underserved patients.
The health center received a grant from Robin Hood Foundation to launch the Hepatitis B Care Program to treat uninsured patients diagnosed with chronic hepatitis B infections. The program offers monitoring visits, diagnostic testing, care management, and assistance in applying for free medication from patient assistance programs sponsored by pharmaceutical companies.
