The Foundation was established in 1995 with two important goals, to improve access to quality health care for the Asian American community in New York City and to support the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center.
It gives me great pleasure to thank the individual, corporate and foundation donors, who for over thirty years have supported the Health Center's unique mission through various activities, including annual dinners and other special events. I salute all the volunteer leaders, in-kind donors and performers who have come together to make our fundraising events so exciting and successful. This is no small feat!
Philanthropic donations have supported special projects that are important and beneficial to the community, such as:
|
- establishing a women's health department
- expanding the pediatric and dental clinics
- producing community health fairs
- launching community-wide screening and health education programs
- purchasing new medical equipment and supplies
- improving our facilities in both Manhattan and Queens

With the support of many generous donors, our major accomplishment to date has been the acquisition of 268 Canal Street, which doubled the Health Center's service capacity since its opening in June 2002.
We hope to build upon this success and within the next few years, complete the renovation of the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of Canal Street, and improve the facilities at 125 Walker Street. We are very grateful to the many friends and supports who have contributed to the growth and expansion of the Health Center. Your support is not only a remarkable demonstration of the impact of philanthropy in the Asian-American community, but also adds a needed voice of support for our unique work.
Together, we are making a difference in the lives of many underserved Asian Americans who have no other place to turn for basic health care and education. It is both a challenge and an opportunity to help meet the resource needs required to ensure the fiscal health of the Center, so that it can ensure both the short and long-term health of our growing community.
Sincerely yours,
