Mental Health services are offered by the "Bridge" team through an innovative national model program that integrates mental health services with primary care. Established in 1997, the model has demonstrated success in providing easy access to mental health services and in reducing the stigma that is frequently attached to receiving mental health services within the Chinese community. The team of bilingual and bicultural providers offers consultation to primary care providers, and assessment, medication, and individual and group counseling to adults, adolescents, and children who face multiple stress factors in their adjustments to life in the United States. The Bridge team has also developed expertise in providing grief and trauma counseling in the aftermath of the September 11 tragedy. |
