Volunteer Opportunities (Youth Volunteer Program):

The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center offers volunteer opportunities for anyone who is at least 17 years old and/or a Junior or Senior in High School. High School students, College students, and adults are welcome to apply.

Job assignments vary from filing, typing, entering computer data, copying, mass mailing, assisting with the production of health-educational booklets, to conducting telephone or in-person patient surveys. Special projects and analytical reports may also be assigned to those who demonstrate notable skills and experiences and to those who are ready to take on more challenges.

Some basic requirements for volunteering include working a minimal of two hours per week, adhering to work schedules, and completing assignments under supervision.

Volunteering can be an interesting and rewarding experience. Volunteers develop good work habits, gain valuable work experience, and become better prepared for the future work place. The Health Center will furnish volunteers with a letter of reference upon completing 80 hours of volunteer work.

Please call Virginia Lou Ng, Assistant Administrator at (212) 379-6988 ext. 2618 or email her at vng@cbwchc.org for additional information or if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.

College undergraduates interested in volunteering during the summer months at the Health Center should go to Project AHEAD link.
