Reflecting on 2022

A man in a suit and tie with the words KAUSHAL'S CORNER A Message from the CEO

Dear Friends,

Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, 2022 was a year of tremendous impact for the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC) at a time when our services were most needed.

Emphasis on Primary Healthcare

Last year, more than 55,000 community members looked to CBWCHC for their primary healthcare needs. They turned to us because we emphasize wellness and preventative care, cancer screening, hepatitis B screening and management, smoking cessation, COVID testing and vaccines, programs for special healthcare needs, social work and support services, health education, and so much more. This care is available to anyone who needs it, no matter their ability to pay, the language they speak, or their immigration history.

National Quality Leader

In recognition of CBWCHC’s outstanding work the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), once again awarded the Health Center with a number of its highest awards, including Health Center Quality Leader “Gold” recognition for clinical quality in the top 10 percent nationally. Additionally, we were recognized for advancing telehealth, patient engagement, interoperability, and incorporating social determinants of health; improving access, quality, and reducing health disparities.

We also received recognition for our efforts to improve the quality, efficiency, and value of the healthcare we provide, including National Quality Leader awards for services in the areas of diabetes and Maternal and Child Health.

Expanding Care in Queens

In addition, we just opened our newest location in Flushing, called Healthview, at the corner of College Point Blvd and 40th Road. This six-floor, state of the art facility expands access to our services in an area that sorely needs it. In particular, the massive expansion of dental services in Queens positions us as one of the largest providers in the area.

It is an honor to provide high-quality and affordable healthcare to thousands each year. But nothing we do would be possible without the dedication of our providers, staff, partners, and supporters.  We are deeply grateful for your support.

We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year.

Sincerely,

Kaushal Challa

Chief Executive Officer
