Charles B. Wang Community Health Center is the Highest Awarded Community Health Center in Manhattan and Queens in 2025

The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC) is proud to be the most awarded health center in Manhattan and Queens in 2025. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, awarded the Health Center with seven of the highest awards, highlighting CBWCHC’s continued dedication to clinical excellence.

Health Center Quality Leader “Gold” Badge – CBWCHC was recognized as a Health Center Quality Leader, earning the "Gold" badge for being in the top 10% of health centers nationwide for overall clinical quality measures. Only eight health centers in New York state achieved this distinction in 2025.

National Quality Leader in Cancer Screening – The Health Center was recognized as a National Quality Leader in Cancer Screening, exemplifying its commitment to reducing cancer-related illness. Only 4% of health centers nationwide receive this award.

National Quality Leader in Diabetes CBWCHC – received National Quality Leader recognition for Diabetes once again, highlighting consistent commitment to diabetes screening and control. Only five health centers in New York state earned this recognition.

National Quality Leader in Heart Health – The Health Center earned National Quality Leader recognition for Heart Health, for prevention and treatment of various cardiovascular conditions. CBWCHC was one of six health centers in New York state to receive this award.

Community Health Quality Recognition for Preventive Health – CBWCHC was awarded Community Health Quality Recognition for Preventive Health. The Health Center was among the top 8% nationwide to receive this new award in 2025.

Community Health Quality Recognition for Improving Health Care Access – The Health Center received Community Health Quality Recognition for Improving Health Care Access.

Community Health Quality Recognition for Advancing HIT for Quality – CBWCHC achieved Community Health Quality Recognition in Advancing HIT for Quality by adopting health information technology that has enhanced patient care and service delivery.

CBWCHC provides a wide range of health care services, including internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, dental care, primary eye care, and mental health services. The Health Center remains focused on preventive health, improving access to health care, and utilizing health information technology that will improve patient outcomes.

HRSA awards health centers every year for displaying quality improvements across various clinical measures. As a leader in community health care both state and nationwide, the Health Center looks forward to furthering its mission of providing high-quality and affordable health care to all.
