May is National Women’s Health Month, a time dedicated to highlightingthe health needs facing women and girls at every stage of life.May is National Women’s Health Month, a time dedicated to highlighting the health needs facing women and girls at every stage of life. At the Charles B Wang Community Health Center, we are committed to empowering women through health education, resources, and quality health services—ensuring that every woman receives the personalized care and support she deserves.

Early Prenatal Care: A Healthy Start for Your Baby

Care that begins early in a pregnancy is essential to ensuring a healthy start for both mother and baby. Regular prenatal checkups help to monitor the baby’s development, manage any pre-existing health conditions, and provide the mother with nutritional guidance important for a healthy pregnancy.

Routine Gynecological Checkups: Your Preventive Health Strategy

Women's bodies go through various changes at different life stages, which can affect their overall health and well-being. Regular visits to an OB/GYN are vital for staying in good reproductive health. During these visits, our providers can detect and treat a variety of health issues—like hormonal imbalances and cervical cancer—as early as possible. Seeing an OB/GYN specialist also offers an opportunity to have honest and safe conversations about contraception, planning for pregnancy, and managing menopausal symptoms.

STI and Cancer Screening: Preventive Measures Save Lives

Screening for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and cancers, like breast and cervical cancer, is a critical part of women's health care. Regular screenings—including HPV tests, Pap smears, and mammograms—help us detect STIs and cancers early, which often gives us better treatment options and outcomes.

Join Us in Celebrating Women’s Health

This National Women's Health Month, we invite all women to take steps towards better health. To honor this month and the special women in our lives, our Health Center is hosting Mother’s Day events on May 10 in Manhattan and May 11 in Flushing. These events will offer mothers and their children fun activities, free goodie bags, and a venue to come together and strengthen our community. Learn more about the event and register here: Manhattan | Flushing

Our Health Center is a place where women’s health is respected and celebrated. Our OB/GYN providers offer a wide range of services, including prenatal and postpartum care, gynecological checkups, and health screenings. For more information about our OB/GYN services and to schedule your appointment, visit our website.
